Physician Training

These interactive training opportunities are highly beneficial, cost effective, easy to schedule, and well-received by physicians. Each of the available programs includes extremely pertinent and timely guidelines that help practices secure accurate compensation for services while insulating themselves from regulatory liability. The programs can be conducted at times convenient for your organization and physicians can attend from dozens of locations simultaneously for the same flat rate.

Summary of Popular Topics:

  1. Visit Documentation: $1,500
Attendees will learn best practice approaches to documenting and coding cardiology visits in the office and hospital. Common stumbling blocks will be discussed and key phrases that ensure regulatory compliance and accurate compensation will be presented. Attendees will also receive pocket reference cards that aide in the implementation of recommended documentation and coding techniques.
  2. Peripheral Vascular Angiography & Intervention: $1,500
This presentation gives physicians an easy to understand summary of the most complex set of coding rules in existence. Physicians will learn the phrases that must be documented in order to create a medical record that adequately summarizes the complexities of the procedure and provides coding staff with the information needed to secure full compensation. Physicians who do not understand the nuances of documenting catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, and interventional intent frequently forfeit over half of the revenue they are entitled to. The applicable rules will be presented in a logical, graphic, and easy to understand format.
  3. Electrophysiology & Cardiac Rhythm Management: $1,500
Not all electrophysiology studies are considered “comprehensive” as defined in the coding structure or National Correct Coding Initiative Policy Manual. This program will illustrate what documentation is needed to support a comprehensive study, how to code cases which don’t meet the applicable standards, how to document and report common add-on services, how to report ablation procedures, and how to document and code pacemaker and defibrillator surgeries. When coded correctly, a generator change-out pays more than some initial system implants – this program will help secure the compensation you deserve.
  4. Pacemaker, Defibrillator, and Heart Failure Monitoring: $1,500
Effective January 1, 2009 there is no difference between device interrogations that include reprogramming or not. Similarly, it is no longer appropriate to report only two in-person and two remote monitoring services. This program provides a very thorough review of all six new service categories that apply to device management. We’ll also cover the best-practice technique to accurate and thorough charge capture.
  5. Coronary Assessment & Intervention: $1,500
Echocardiography, stress testing, heart catheterization, and coronary intervention have been the financial bedrocks of cardiology for the past several decades. Many of the coding rules that apply to these services have evolved in the last few years and the recently completed Relative Value Unit (RVU) survey is a harbinger of substantial code structure changes on the horizon. This program presents the necessary documentation components for each of these services and provides an easy to understand. $1,500

Description of Web-Conference: Shortly after scheduling I will provide you a web link via e-mail that will take you to the web site where the presentation will be conducted.  As I advance the slides from my office, you will see them advance on the screen where you are facilitating the meeting; this could be on a computer screen or on an LCD projector.  You can also have physicians log into the presentation from different locations; since it is web-based the logistical challenges are eliminated.

I’ll also provide a call-in number where you’ll be connected to me via teleconference.  The call is highly interactive and physicians can ask questions at multiple points during the program.  Each program is designed to be about an hour long with an average volume of Q&A time; extensive questions may prolong this estimate. My fee for each presentation is $1,500.

Web Conference availability is limited and committed on a first come, first served basis. You can purchase a training programs in our online store – we’ll contact you within a day or two to schedule the program at a time that works for you.

Testimonials I’ve Received:

“we could not believe the laser focus from the physicians and the great interaction between you and them. I have been involved in a bunch of your programs and they are all great and you provide an invaluable service”

“Several physicians have called this morning to express their thanks and comment on the quality of education you provided. Thanks again.”

“I would say that the Web Conference call is as valuable as you physically being here. Your expertise showed immediately once the call began and you were able to communicate and answer all questions anyone would have regarding EP billing and reimbursement.”

“It was a homerun! Thanks for your time.”

“Our docs really enjoyed your presentation and their response was very positive.”

“You are a true expert and a real professional…we are incredibly fortunate to have access to your services and I would recommend you to any of my colleagues across the country without hesitation.”

“The feedback was great and the service you provide is always invaluable.”

“The feedback was wonderful! All were very thankful for your presentation and info. Thought the info was great and the format was superb. They are already figuring out ways to implement your ideas into the practice. .. Thanks so much for a great webcast!”

“The reimbursement webcast was a great resource for my customer. The physician was able to “attend” from a different location, which allowed flexibility that otherwise he would not have been involved. The billing staff and office manager would not be able to travel and this one on one program allowed them to interact and ask questions specific to their concerns and practice. The education of what an ablation is as well as how to bill for it was helpful for them to piece together a puzzle, but was brief enough so as not to bore the physician. Also being able to schedule the program based on individual customer needs was helpful, we were not trying to force their schedule to accommodate a pre-set time. This program was a great resource for my customers, and also presented Boston Scientific as a partner in their business. Thanks again for a great program.”

“I would say that the WebEx conference call is as valuable as you physically being here. Your expertise showed immediately once the call began and you were able to communicate and answer all questions anyone would have regarding EP billing and reimbursement. Most importantly, the customers found the call and data very valuable. I would do this call with all of my valuable EP customers as a means of providing them with expertise above and beyond what the competition may or may not be offering.”

“Jim: I have been, and continue to be, your most ardent supporter. Having said that, I was very skeptical about whether these webcasts would be able to capture the exuberance and energy that you bring to every live presentation. Well, I was wrong.I have now been present for two of these, and I must tell you that I feel that they were both unqualified successes.”
